Breath Retraining and Therapeutic Breathwork

What is breathwork?

Breathwork is a body-based therapy that everyone can access through their own breath. It is one of the fastest and most effective ways to change your state of being.

There are different types of breathwork modalities.

Through various types of breathing techniques, you can elicit responses in the physical body and nervous system. Breathwork allows us to move out of the overactive analytical brain and into the felt experiences of the body (somatic); enabling transformative shifts to occur in the body and the mind.

Through breath-retraining you can learn the physiology of how to breathe optimally and how to access the parasympathetic nervous system to create more stability, grounding, and clarity. Harnessing the power of the breath can help reduce stress, manage anxiety and panic attacks, optimize health, boost energy and longevity, maximize fitness performance, heal from past trauma, and access a higher state of awareness.

The breath brings us into the present — it is a bridge between our physical, mental, and emotional states. Learning how to breathe well is like coming home to your body, to your purpose, to a regulated nervous system, and to a clear mind.

As one of the fastest growing fields in health, mental health, and wellbeing; breathwork is for every human living in the modern world. The practice of breathwork can be applied in everyday life and can be felt even after one session.

At Then Exhale, we aim to bridge the gap between modern science and ancient tradition by using a range of breathwork techniques based on an individuals’ circumstances, needs, and aim.

Everybody breathe

No matter who you are or what you face in life, breath retraining is for you. The power of the breath is within everyone. The breath is an incredible tool every human can learn to understand, access, and harness.

Breathwork is for the professional who wants to manage stress, the student who needs to cope with anxiety, the person living with PTSD, the parent who needs to regulate their nervous system and find more patience, the child growing up in a world filled with technology and stimulation, the athlete who wants to enhance performance.

Through the breath, you learn to regulate the nervous system and shift emotional states, increase lung capacity and oxygen flow, and improve posture. Whatever your intention, your breath can take you there.

Breathwork can be tailored, adapted, and developed to the individual and is a journey of the self. We aim to guide people home–to a more calm, balanced, and regulated existence–through guided breathing techniques. One breath at a time.
